So, a week ago I said blogging might be light as I needed to recharge my brain. Turns out it wasn't just my brain.A few days after writing that post I discovered the cause of my malaise: Something I like to call a "Sinus Lemming" has crawled into my left maxillary sinus (that's 'cheek') and promptly commited suicide. Its rotting corpse is swollen and bloated to a size that is, in effect, larger than the available space in my pesky skull cavity, causing rather excruciating toothache and headaches.
In the Victorian era, people would, in desperation, turn to denists during Sinus Lemming infestations, and discovering that removing one tooth hadn't worked, they would remove another. And another. And another. People would have all their teeth taken out and still be suffering agonising toothache. I prefer modern medicine. They tell you that antibiotics are no better than placebo for Sinus Lemming infestation, and the only prescription is rest. I can keepz mah teef?
But yes, the dead Sinus Lemming. The corpse is quite putrid now. It seems to be issuing a gloopy yellow discharge that smells of filled nappies, of which there seems to be an almost infinite supply. Periodically, some of this effluent discharge squirts into my nose from the Sinus, triggering a bit of a gag reflex. Honestly it's great fun, I recommend it.
My body seems to have directed virtually all its energy towards fighting this Sinus Lemming infestation, reducing such systems as digestion, muscles and my brain to minimal life support. I have, in effect, spent the last week alternating between dozing and bewilderment. I still find it remarkable that most symptoms are just my own immune system working normally.
I'm only writing this because I want to try keeping the habit of blogging going while I'm too spaced out to write anything meaningful, and to share some of the lovely, attractive and sexy details about Sinusitis with you lucky people. To be honest I'm getting very, very bored. The good news is that this will go away eventually, it's just a question of waiting... hmmm.. back to bed for me I think.
